ठक्कुर—It appears to have been a mere title and not an office whereby the holder was entitled to wield some kind of power in the State. The word occurs in saṁvat 1005 (E. I. XIX p. 243), in the plate of Govindacandra in saṁvat 1186 (in E. I. XIII p. 295 at p. 297), the Sevadi plate of Cāhamāna Ratnapāla in saṁvat 1176 (E. I. XI p. 304 at p. 310). It occurs as a title in Rājat. VII. 290, 706, 738.
