838d 838 d. श्राद्धाईद्रव्यसंप्राप्तौ तथा दुःस्वप्नदर्शने । जन्मर्क्षग्रहपीडासु श्राद्धं कुर्यात्स्वेच्छया ॥ मार्कण्डेय 28.22. A man can perform a śrāddha on any *tithi* of the dark half of a month, but he should not perform it on a tithi when the moon is in the *nakṣatra* on which he was born or in Pūrvā-bhādrapadā or in Uttarābhādrapadā or Kṛttikā, Ārdrā, Āśleṣā or Mūla or in a nakṣatra, which is 5th, 14th or 23rd from the *nakṣatra* of his birth.
