¹⁴⁶⁸ There is conflict about the dates of Madhvācārya's birth and death. The Uttarādi-matha records give śake 1040 (1118 A. D.) and śake 1120 (1198 A. D.) as the dates of his birth and death respectively. This is said to conflict with the date given in Madhva's महाभारततात्पर्यनिर्णय viz. that he was born in गतकलि 4300. In a paper published in the Journal of the Annamalai University, vol III for 1934 pp. 245 ff. the correct dates are said to be 1238 A. D.–1317 A. D.
