¹⁵⁴⁷ आद्येषा ब्रह्मणो वेदिस्ततो रामह्रदः स्मृतः। कुरुणा च यतः कृष्टं कुरुक्षेत्रं ततः स्मृतम्॥ वामन 22 59-60. According to वामन 22. 18-20 there are five vedis of Brahmā viz. समन्तपञ्चक (उत्तरा), प्रयाग (मध्यमा), गयाशिरः (पूर्वा), विरजा (दक्षिणा), पुष्कर (प्रतीची).
