I 3-4. It is said here that पौलिश and रोमक were commented upon by लाटदेव, that the Sūryasiddhānta is most accurate, Paulīśa is accurate and Romaka approaches it in accuracy and that Vāsiṣṭha and Pitāmaha are far from accurate. Thibaut (in Intro. to पञ्चसिद्धान्तिका pp. XLIX-L) holds that Paulīśa-siddhānta known to Utpala (about 966 A D.) was different from the one known to Varāhamihira, that both Romaka and Paulīśa known to Varāha could not be placed later than 400 A. D. (Intro p. XXXIII).
