¹⁰⁸⁹ सहस्रयुगपर्यन्तमहर्यद्ब्रह्मणो विदुः । रात्रिं युगसहस्रान्तां तेऽहोरात्रविदो जनाः ॥ शान्ति 23. 31 and गीता VIII 17 The word युग is often used to denote the 12000 years of divine measure as in वनपर्व 188 38 'एषा द्वादशसाहस्री युगाख्या परिकीर्तिता ॥'.
