¹⁶⁰⁰ शृणु देवि प्रवक्ष्यामि नाम्नामष्टोत्तरं शतम् । सहस्रनाम्नां पुण्यानां त्रिरावृत्त्या तु यत्फलम् । एकावृत्त्या तु कृष्णस्य नामैकं तत्प्रयच्छति । तस्मात्पुण्यतरं चैतत् स्तोत्रं पातक-नाशनम् ॥ ब्रह्माण्ड III 36 18-20. Verses 21-41 set out the 108 names of Kṛṣṇa The one thousand and eight names of Viṣṇu are set out in Mahā-bhārata, Anuśāsanaparva 149 14-120 and the Garuda-purāṇa (I. 15 1-160) contains names of विष्णु, but often different from those in अनुशासन
