¹⁷⁰⁹ अलिपानं कुलस्त्रीणां गन्धस्वीकारलक्षणम्। साधकानां गृहस्थानां पञ्चपात्रं प्रकीर्तितम्॥ अतिपानात्कुलीनानां सिद्धिहानिः प्रजायते। यावन्न चालयेद्दृष्टिं यावन्न चाल-येन्मनः। तावत्पानं प्रकुर्वीत पशु पानमतः परम्॥ महानिर्वाण० VI. 194 The cup should be of gold or silver or of glass or of cocoanut shell but should not be more than five *tolakas* in capacity and not less than three 'पानपात्रे प्रकुर्वीत न पञ्चतोलकाधिकम्। तोलकत्रितयाच्यूने स्वार्ण राजतमेव च। अथवा काचजनितं नारिकेलोद्भवं च वा। महानिर्वाण VI. 187-188.
