The words प्रति... यन्ति occur in ताण्ड्यमहाब्राह्मण 23. 2. 4. This is considered in पू मी सू IV. 3. 17-19. The दुपटीका holds that there is a विधि here. The मिता० on Yāj III. 226 says 'न चेदमर्थवादमात्रम्। This अधिकरण contains an exception to the (*Continued from last page*) general rule in पू. IV 3. 15 'स स्वर्गः स्यात्सर्वान्प्रत्यविशिष्टत्वात्'. About such special passages Śabara remarks 'ननु वर्तमानापदेशोयम् । on पू मी. सू III. 4. 24 (p. 955) and the तन्त्रवार्तिक on the same states 'सत्यपि चार्थवाद्यसरूपत्वे पारार्थ्यानवधारणाद्वैवंजातीयकेषु फलविधित्वं वक्ष्यति 'फलमात्रेयो निर्देशाद्' इति।'. फलमा० is the सिद्धान्त in पू मी. IV. 3. 18 (about रात्रिसत्र)
