²⁴⁴⁰ हिरण्यगर्भः समवर्तताग्रे भूतस्य जातः पतिरेक आसीत्। ऋ. X. 121. 1. The तै सं. V. 5. 1. 2 provides 'हिरण्यगर्भः समवर्तताग्रे इत्याधारमाधारयति प्रजापतिर्वै हिरण्यगर्भः प्रजापतेरनुरूपत्वाय ' य आत्मदा बलदा यस्य विश्व उपासते प्रशिषं यस्य देवाः। यस्य छायामृतं यस्य मृत्युः कस्मै देवाय हविषा विधेम ॥ ऋ X. 121 2 'He gives life and strength, his commandments are honoured by all the Gods, whose shadow is immortality and also death; who is this God whom we worship with other offerings (or to what God we may offer worship with *havis*?).
