There were regulations for the departments of the superintendents; but leaving them for the present, let us turn to the different kinds of rates that were levied from mines.¹ These were, as the passage quoted below shows—(1) शुल्क, (2) विभाग, (3) व्याजी, (4) परिघ, (5) अत्यय, (6) शुल्क, (7) वैचरम्, (8) रूप, (9) रूप and (10) रूपिक.
