(ii) प्रववहः This is another name for sea-going vessels, or more properly merchantmen, for it is thus defined in the commentary on उत्तराध्ययनटीका, p. 246: समुद्रिका: व्यापारिण: महासमुद्रं प्रवसन्तीति, i.e. “sea-going merchants cross the main in प्रवसन्.”¹
