The guilds enjoyed the right to make certain regulations even of a social and religious character for their members. According to an inscription in the Tiptūr taluk of the Tumkūr district for instance a number of Śeṭṭis from Bāgūr made some regulations in A.D. 1449 (?) regarding women who lapsed from marriage.⁶⁴ But unfortunately the inscription is incomplete and we are not able to make anything out of this interesting fragment.
