¹¹ According to Nuniz, Kṛṣṇadēva Rāya abdicated and enthroned his son Tirumala as the king of Vijayanagar (not as Yuvarāja) and Kṛṣṇa Rāya himself became his son’s Prime Minister. But it appears, as we shall see subsequently that Tirumala was only made the Yuvarāja. And Nuniz says that Kṛṣṇadēva Rāya appointed his brother, Acyutadēva Rāya, as his successor, which is borne out by a copper-plate of Acyuta. (E.C., ix, Db. 30.)
