He is also to keep charge (*rakshaṇam*) under proper Municipal arrangements of things lost (*nashṭa*) by carelessness or forgetfulness of the owners (*prasṛita*), and also of cattle that have strayed away (*apasṛitānām svayaṁ apagatānāṁ dvipada-chatushpadānām*) [II. 36].
