The Superintendent should extend his fatherly protection (*piteva anugṛihṇīyāt*) to such ships as are weather-beaten (*vātāhata*) or have lost their way (*mūḍha*), and also reduce by half (*ardha-śulka*) or forego (*aśulka*) customs charges on merchant vessels damaged by water (*udaka-prānta*)
