Buddhism is known to have reached Siam through Cambodia early in the fifth century (422 A.C.). Burma also played some part in the propagation of Buddhism in Siam. Along with Buddhism came the entire Pāli literature furnished as it is with the elements of positivism and the morality of strenuous and energetic life.
