An inscription entirely in Cham of 1088 describes Śrī Jaya Indravarma-deva V as virtually an embodiment of all the good things to be found in the Hindu *nītiśāstras*. In this description we are told that the eighteen titles of law prescribed by Manu were followed by him and that he knew also the *ṣādguṇya* (the six military attitudes). The inscription makes use of the categories, *trivarga*, *artha*, *dharma*, *kāma*, *sāma*, *dāna*, *bheda*, *upapradāna* (bribery), *krodha*, *lobha*, *moha*, *mada*, *mātsarya*, *yoga*, *dhyāna*, *samādhi* etc. among others.
