It was during the period in question that Siam also came to be annexed to the sphere of Hindu positivism. The earlier beginnings of the Hinduization of this country are not yet clear. But early in the thirteenth century when the first royal dynasty of Siam was established (1218 A.C.) it had already a Hindu name. The first historical king is known to have been Śri Indrāditya and his successors also had Hindu names. The name of the capital of this dynasty was also Hindu or rather Indian, namely, Sukhodaya.
