Two works of Varāhamihra were translated into Arabic by Alberuni. The one was the *Brihatsamhitā* and the other the *Laghujātaka*. A Sanskrit treatise on loathsome diseases owes its Arabic rendering to him. Among philosophical works he is responsible for the translation of Kapila's *Sāmkhya* and Patanjali's treatise on *Yoga* as well as of the *Gītā*.
