² *Mbh.* VI. 10.45 and 46; 65 and 66; in the critical edition of the *Mbh.*, VII. 19.7, *śūrābhīra* seems to be a wrong reading. It should be *śūdrābhīrāḥ* as found in other Mss. (fn. on VII. 19.7). Śūdras and Ābhīras are again mentioned together in the *Mahābhāṣya* of Patañjali (Pat. on *Pa.*, I. 2.72.6).
