Finally scientists of the Central Arid Zone Research Inst., Jodhpur, especially the geomorphologists B. Ghose and S. Singh and pedologist R.P. Dhir, have collected over many years a large body of data on palaeochannels, palaeolandforms, and palaeosoils of the desert which is of great value in understanding the geomorphic and climatic history of the desert.
