v1.c15.s1.5
The third stage of importance in the history of Indian beads belongs to the initial two centuries of the Christian era, or in dynastic terms the period of the Sātavāhanas who ruled over large parts of the Deccan and parts of c. and w. India. It is during this period that one comes across the introduction of new materials like the Mediterranean fine-grained corals and Roman glass [8.2].
