The Taxila type of arrowheads has been unearthed from the bastions and gateway of KAUŚĀMBĪ (Sharma, 1960, pp. 45-7). Like Taxila, Kauśāmbī was attacked by the Hūṇas who were armed with these types of arrowheads. The ‘double-tang’ feature was copied in the spearheads in the e. up to SISUPALGARH and in the s. at various sites at different times. BRAHMAPURI has revealed the existence in the Bahmanī levels of a small collection of flat and thin arrowheads of the leaf-shaped and triangular types with minor variations in outline. The definite individuality of the group is a Muslim contribution to the older tradition (Gupta, 1961, p. 138).
