The work is divided into two volumes: Vol. I deals with twenty broad subjects, alphabetically arranged and further sub-divided into sections and sub-sections. The sections under most subjects follow a chronological rather than alphabetical order. This rule, however, has not been followed universally as in the case of section 6, Domestic and Miscellaneous Objects, where the sections numbered 6.1, 6.2 and so on, are arranged alphabetically.
