Not much is known about the habitation characteristics of the culture, but from the way in which most of the villages definitely tended to have a common burial site, located on the foreshore of the irrigation tank of the village, it may be stated that one necropolis for one group of villages, irrigated by the same irrigation tank, was the pattern, and by that token the habitation sites, if indeed preserved, were likely to be within one of the villages in each group, in the *gaothan* (or residential area). Excavated examples of the habitation sites have been very few so far but mention should be made of KUNNATTUR and PAIYAMPALLI (*IAR 1964-5* and *1967-8*).
