Other ancient sites located in this region have been explored in a cursory manner and the reports thereon indifferently prepared. Some such sites occur in Dt Birbhum (Chakravarti, 1972). One of them is BIRNAGAR, where an extensive mound is said to have yielded brickbats, and KOTASUR and ASURDANGA are two other sites in this Dt which possibly contain relics of the period.
