The structures of this age are built of mud bricks, stone and baked bricks. Bricks of earlier periods have been freely employed in constructions besides new ones. Many earlier structures including temples and monasteries continue in use in this period, sometimes with additions and modifications. A small shrine built within a wall with a corbelled arcuate opening unearthed at AGROHĀ is perhaps indicative of a private chapel. Remains of some of the houses of this age at certain sites covered a large area with several rooms. The floors were normally of mud and bricks. *Tandūr*-like ovens, exposed in the post-Gupta levels at PURANA QILA, also appear to be significant from a standpoint of food habits.
