Most of Assam remains unexplored up to this day. The only known assemblage of Garo Hills is made on dolerite and follows the general pattern of scraper-point tradition of the Indian Middle Palaeolithic culture-complex (*IAR 1967-8*, pp. 7-8; *1968-9*, pp. 2-3; *1969-70*, pp. 1-2).
