The pre-Harappa occupation came to an end by a seismic catastrophe [9.3] as evidenced by the fault in the occupation layers in the upper levels. However in KLB-2 the pre-Harappans continued to live with the Harappans up to the middle levels of occupation. The date of pre-Harappa occupation at KALIBANGAN is assigned to *c.* 2450 to 2300 B.C. on the basis of ¹⁴C determinations.
