*Haryana and Punjab*. BANAWALI, situated 15 km n.-w. of Fatehabad, has a threefold sequence of cultures. In Pd I the pre-Harappa occupation has yielded all the six fabrics of KALIBANGAN I. The houses, laid roughly in cardinal directions point to a definite town-planning. In the structures mud and burnt bricks have been used (size 36 × 24 × 12 cm and 39 × 26 × 13 cm). Beads of gold, semiprecious stones, terracottas and bangles of clay, shell and faience [16.6] have been found.
