v1.c9.s9.14

Covering an overall area of 55×3 m, the granary complex comprised two blocks, each block having six halls, and each hall measuring about 15×6 m. The basal part of these halls was made of kiln-burnt bricks, with provision of regular air-ducts, whereas the upper part, of which nothing has survived, is likely to have been of wood. Immediately to the n. of the granary lies the ancient bed of the Ravi (which now flows a few km away), and it is only reasonable to surmise that boats moving up and down the river brought in the grain supplies.
