In contrast to the evidence so far obtained from either Mohenjo-daro or Harappa, that from Kalibangan shows that not only the ‘Citadel’ but also the ‘Lower Town’ was fortified. Further, since the ‘Citadel’ area at Kalibangan has been excavated in sufficient detail, it is also possible now to understand its real character.
