v2.c40.465

Recently two Aśokan Rock-edicts have been discovered here by the writer at the foot of a hill range locally known as Sukradappana-gudda. Their contents are almost exactly similar to those of MASKI and BRAHMAGIRI. Besides there are Kannada inscriptions on two pillars in the village proper, one of the Kalyāṇī Cāḷukyas and the other of Sadāśivarāya of Vijayanagara.
