The Pallavaram tool is a genuine chipped implement found in a ballast pit of laterite gravel in the Brigade Parade Ground lying to the w. of the National Highway here. In January 1864 Foote revisited the Pallavaram pit and found two more palaeoliths of typical oval shapes in the material exposed by the enlargement of the pit.
