Uvamga (Upāṅga) A group of canonical texts five in number (1) Nira-yāvaliyā(1) (2) Kappavadamsiyā (3) Pupphiyā (4) Pupphacūliyā and (5) Vaṇhi-dasā ¹ They are other than Aṃga(3) ² The commentators enumerate twelve Uvamgas viz Uvavāiya Rāyapaseṇia Jīvābhigama Paṇṇavaṇā(1) Sūrapa-ṇṇatti Jambuddīvapaṇṇatti Camdapaṇṇatti and the other five as mentioned above ³ They are said to be derived from the Aṃga(3) texts See also Kappiyā(1) and (2) and Nirayāvaliyā(1) and (2)
