Castañeda. The First Booke of the Historie of the Discouerie and Conquest of the East Indias. . . . Transld. into English by N. L.(itchfield), Gentleman. 4to. London, 1582. The translator has often altered the spelling of the Indian words, and his version is very loose, comparing it with the printed text of the Port. in the ed. of 1833. It is possible, however, that Litchfield had the first ed. of the first book (1551) before him, whereas the ed. of 1833 is a reprint of 1554. (A.B.)
