As a rule the hour-glass-shaped drum (*dholak*) is not used by Yogīs, although Śiva as Nātarāja carries one. But there are exceptions; e.g., in Almora. In Bombay there is a class of Yogīs who carry a drum (*dāur*), and who, therefore, are called Dāurī Gosāins.⁵
