B. MIXED HINAYĀNA BUDDHISM, represented by the various schools which came into existence about a century after Buddha’s death. The sources for this period are scanty, being limited to a few books, either expressly attributed to a particular school, or having sufficient evidence to indicate the school to which the works belong, and also the treatises dealing exclusively with the history of the schools and their doctrines.
