c9.s8.6

He is now given a new name according to the nikāya (school) and with this name he again takes triśaraṇa and the ten śikṣāpadas. He holds a bowl and a robe (pātra-cīvara) and then entreats the Saṅgha to permit him to seek so-and-so as Ācārya and so-and-so as Upādhyāya, and promises to make proper use of the bowl and the robe by uttering mantras. The wordings of the *Pañjikā* are slightly different from those of the *Kammavācam* but the form and order of procedure are the same.
