1. *piṇḍiyālopa-bhojanam* (to take food received as alms)
2. *paṃsukūlacīvaram* (to use robes made of rags collected from dust heap)
3. *rukkhamūlasenāsanam* (to sit and lie at the foot of a tree) and
4. *pūtimuttabhesajjam* (to use excrements and urine as medicines).
