(i) To utter the formula of *Tisarana*,
(ii) To listen to religious discourses on *uposatha* days,
(iii) To observe eight *sīlas* occasionally, and
(iv) To offer robes to the monks on certain occasions, specially at the end of the rainy season retreat.
