The actual specimens of this kind of *Kuṇḍalas* were excavated from Taxila by Marshall (Marshall, 1902-3). The *Vallikā*, as mentioned in the *Cullāvagga*, has been identified with modern *Ballikās* or *Bālā* (Sivaramamurti, 1956).
