Chemical analyses of Koṇārka beam samples were done by Ghosh (1963) and Friend *et al.* (1924). Ghosh selected three separate samples: KT/1, KT/2 and KT. The results are provided in Table 19.4. The similarity in compositions of the ancient Koṇārka samples and a modern tribal sample from Orissa shown in the table is noteworthy.
