We have been investigating the past of the Indian traditions in minerals and metals; the present investigations are incomplete and to a certain extent inconclusive and therefore must be continued in the future. The tentative conclusions that we have reached in the previous twenty chapters may be very briefly summarised before we critically survey the future requirements and possible trends of further research.
