3. Rajasthan in India developed indigenous copper-making tradition even in the Pre-Harappan context and subsequently produced lead, zinc and silver in the pre-Christian era. The earliest C-14 dated subsurface mine so far noted is from Rajpura-Dariba (1200 BC).
