Vopadeva, the above-mentioned commentator of Śārṅgadhara Saṃhitā, has also written many independent works on medicine, of which Śatalokī on the preparation and use of powders, pills and similar things is several times printed with commentary by the author himself and is most famous (e. g. Madras 1860, Bombay 1889). Vopadeva, also known as a grammarian, was the son of Keśava, an equally literarily active physician in Berar and a protege of the famous minister Hemādri in Devagiri¹³ (between 1260 and 1309) who himself has also written commentaries on medical works (see § 6).
