That water besides going up to the leaves also circulates all over the trees, and this circulation is not due to sun's rays, etc., is also noticed by Kaṇāda in his Vaiśeshika Philosophy.² And Śankara Miśra in his Upaskara³ has tried more elaborately to answer how water circulates in trees. Thus :
