v1.c16.13
Remarkably few studies are available on linguistic peculiarities of the Carakasaṃhitā.34 An article by M.M. Deshpande deals with the bhinnakartṛka -tum infinitive,35 found only in parts of the Carakasaṃhitā not redacted by Dṛḍhabala.36 Two articles on the language of the Carakasaṃhitā were published by R.P. Das, who discusses Caraka’s compounds, the anomalous removal of hiatus, unusual sandhi, constructions with yasya and yasyāḥ, the use of certain secondary suffixes, unusual genders of nouns, some peculiar words, etc.37
