Chapter five (rogānutpādanīya) largely agrees with the corresponding chapter of the Hṛdaya (Sū.4). A.s.Sū.5.1–22 = A.h.Sū.4.1–21ab. A.s.Sū.5.23 replaces A.h.Sū.4.21cd, without changing the contents. A.s.Sū.5.24–25 = A.h.Sū.4.22–23. Verses added (5.26–31) describe the numerous bad effects arising in those who neglect to remove impurities from their bodies. A.s.Sū.5.32–43 = A.h.Sū.4.26–36. Two concluding verses (4.44–45) are added.
